Review: LaView 4MP 8-ch PoE NVR Security Camera System (LV-KNX968E88W4-T4)

A high-end home security camera solution that lets you get started with DIY home security in the most effortless manner. The LaView LV-KNX968E88W4-T4 is our choice for the best high-end 8-channel NVR kit.

LaView – who are they?

LaView is a California-based company that sells white-labelled home security systems. Normally that’s not noteworthy, but when the original equipment is from Hikvision, you know you are getting some seriously capable kit.

The IP66 weather-proof rating is worthy of notice, but..the supplied cat5 cables can not be installed with the supplied weather proofing covers without cutting the cables…square peg/round hole

The product itself is great, the cameras are high quality and produce an exceptionally clear picture, the IR works better than any camera I’ve ever seen..that’s where the “great” ends. The P2P remote access is non-existent and there are no plans to restore it per customer service, customer service will not answer the phone, do not waste your time. The supplied cat5 cables must re-ended if you are going to use the supplied water tight covers, 4 out of 5 apps for the remote view will not work and crash constantly, if you’re expecting 2180 4K resolution ..get over it.. 1440 is all you get. The indicated supplied remote isn’t there and must be obtained thru customer service….yeah right. I was sent a customer service review request that came with a non-working return link…you can’t make that up.
